Through our scholarship fund S.U.R.-B.E.T. grants financial assistance to students
of all ages, desiring to attend African-American Independent primary, middle and
high schools; African Universities and/or Historically Black Colleges & Universities
in the United States, that pledge a commitment to elevating the African community
wherever they may live.
S.U.R.-B.E.T. [pronounced ‘sure bet’] exists to assist the African-American community
in its effort to be healthy, balanced, productive, and pioneering. The S.U.R.-B.E.T.
mission is to provide forums, venues and events that will facilitate community endeavors
to recapture, update and incorporate successful African and African-American traditions
into the contemporary lifestyles of the community. We strive to foster the community's
enhancement through information resources, education supplementation, relief funds
to families and individuals facing catastrophic and/or crisis situations as well
as conduct affordable pilgrimages, learning exchanges and tours to the continent
of Africa in order to design, build and maintain spiritual, cultural and economic
ties.
S.U.R.-B.E.T. is a partnership of individuals from different backgrounds observing
the needs of the African-American community who are destined to eliminate the gap
between the haves and have-nots.
